
Annual Whānau Hauora Day a Huge Success
Over 300 whānau members attended our annual Hauora Day at Kawerau Memorial Hall, with free health checks, kai, activities for tamariki, and live entertainment. A wonderful day of whanaungatanga.

Over 300 whānau members attended our annual Hauora Day at Kawerau Memorial Hall, with free health checks, kai, activities for tamariki, and live entertainment. A wonderful day of whanaungatanga.

Fifteen young people from Kawerau and the wider Eastern Bay completed our 12-week Rangatahi Leadership Programme, gaining skills in communication, tikanga, and community engagement.

Our clinical team is offering free influenza vaccinations for all enrolled patients, kaumātua aged 65+, and whānau with chronic health conditions. Walk-ins welcome at Te Whare Haumanu.

Our housing service Te Matatu has expanded its team and moved into larger premises on Onslow Street, enabling us to better support whānau navigating housing challenges in the Kawerau rohe.
Ngā Kaupapa Kei Te Haere Mai
9:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Te Whare Whakaoraora, 20 Islington St. Free health checks, morning tea, gentle exercise, and a guest speaker on diabetes management. All kaumātua welcome.
10:00 AM – 3:00 PM at Kawerau Memorial Hall. A free wānanga on traditional healing practices, including plant identification, mirimiri, and the holistic approach to rongoā. Register by 8 April.
11:00 AM – 2:00 PM at Tarawera High School. Local employers, training providers, and our employment pathways team will be on hand to kōrero with rangatahi about career options. Free lunch provided.
10:00 AM – 3:00 PM at Spencer Park, Kawerau. A day of activities, kai, games, bouncy castles, face painting, health information stalls, and entertainment for the whole whānau. Free entry.
